Black-headed Bulbul Brachypodius melanocephalos melanocephalos reaches China in Yunnan around Xishuangbanna, where is uncommon resident of lowland broadleaved forests. BEHAVIOR In small, fast-moving parties, noisily gathering around fruiting trees. Also eats insects. ID & COMPARISON Like Black-crested Bulbul Rubigula flaviventris has bluish-black head, black throat, yellowish-olive upperparts, bright yellow underparts, and pale blue eye. Unlike Black-crested, lacks crest and wedge-shaped tail has yellow tips and black subterminal band. BARE PARTS Bill, feet black.
