Chestnut-capped Babbler
Chestnut-capped Babbler Timalia pileata is a long-tailed, medium-sized babbler with a chestnut cap, black mask, short, white supercilium, and white cheeks, throat, and breast. Ranges India to Southeast Asia and Java. In China, smithi resident western and southern Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong. Skulks in thick cover, often along streams and roads and in low-lying swampy areas, from 340–880 m (1,120–2,890 ft.). Photo: Ruili, Yunnan, China, February. (Craig Brelsford)
