Flavescent Bulbul Pycnonotus flavescens ranges from northeast India to Borneo. In China, vividus common western and southern Yunnan. HABITAT & BEHAVIOR Gathers in small flocks in forest, at forest edge, in secondary growth, and in parks and gardens, to 2800 m (9,190 ft.). ID Head grey with short, brownish crest and whitish streaks. Blackish lores above bordered by white, which sometimes stretches over eye to form supercilium. Mantle dullish green, with wings and tail more yellowish-green. Breast yellow with greyish streaking. Vent bright lemon-yellow. Juvenile browner throughout. VOICE Song a series of lively, quick sentences with typical bulbul whistles and chirrs. — Craig Brelsford
