Twite Twite Linaria flavirostris occurs throughout western China. In Xinjiang I have noted the species in the Tianshan, the Altai Mountains, and the Jungar Basin. I found this Twite in May in the Altai (47.975990, 88.209488), elev. 1350 m (4,420 ft.). In size and shape, Twite resembles Common Linnet L. cannabina, but Twite has a longer and more deeply forked tail.
